IFA Berlin has turned out to be another huge success story, with nearly 2,000 exhibitors, 245,000 visitors, and a new all-time high for international attendance, with more than 50 percent of trade visitors coming from abroad. Three big technology trends dominated IFA across both consumer electronics and home appliances: voice, artificial intelligence and connectivity, especially
given the rapid roll-out of high-speed, high-band-width 5G mobile networks. Two IFA keynotes – by Huawei CEO Richard Yu and Qualcomm President Cristiano Amon – focused on how 5G connectivity can push the power of artificial intelligence to the very edge of computing – in the devices, into vehicles and into industrial applications. The 200,000+ NSF show floor space was filled with technology integrators, manufacturers, and design professionals and saw a debut of show floor programming which highlighted new-to-market brands, trending discussions within the industry, and business development for the ever-evolving custom integration and residential design channels. “CEDIA Expo made its long-anticipated return to Denver for the 2019 event, and based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees and exhibitors alike, CEDIA Expo 2019 was a huge success,” says Brian Pagel, executive vice president, Emerald Expositions. “Market feedback from the 2018 event was foundational to our strategy and drove many of the new and innovative activation areas throughout the show floor. This was supplemented by engaging content and networking opportunities all week long.”
