NKBA KITCHEN TECHNOLOGY AWARENESS STUDY
The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) released its first Kitchen Technology Awareness and Usage Report, in tandem with its endorsement of last year’s CEDIA Expo. The report recognized a need to encourage NKBA kitchen and bath designers to collaborate with technology integrators to ensure that they deliver thoughtful, well-executed projects to their clients. During CEDIA Expo in September 2018, NKBA sponsored an inaugural series of Design Connection tours that took designers on a tour of the show floor, guided by a professional technology home integrator. With smart-home technology ramping up in all areas from appliances to lighting to voice- command, NKBA feels it's imperative that these kinds of collaborations take place.
ADL NATIONAL CONSUMER TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY ANNUAL TRIBUTE AWARD DINNER
The annual ADL National Consumer Technology Industry Dinner paid tribute to five leaders: Daniel Pidgeon, Michael Petricone, Stephanie Dismore, Rick Albuck, and David Pidgeon. Starpower co-founder Daniel Pidgeon received the Torch of Liberty Award. Michael Petricone, Senior Vice President – Government Affairs from Consumer Technology Association accepted the American Heritage Award. Vice President and General Manager of America’s Channels, HP Inc., Stephanie Dismore was honored with the Patricia Rienzi Legacy Award. Rick Albuck, Vice President – Business Development of 2020 Companies accepted the S. David Feir Humanitarian Award along with David Pidgeon, co-founder and CEO of Starpower, who closed the night with his acceptance of the Torch of Liberty Award.
